Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ReadRush (“ReadRush,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the ReadRush iPhone application.

01What ReadRush does

ReadRush is a speed-reading training app. It displays one word at a time at a pace selected by the reader, keeps a visual focus point centered, and follows reading challenges with comprehension questions. The app calculates actual words per minute, comprehension percentage, and an effective WPM score. It also supports reading history, personal bests, streaks, a daily challenge, and optional account synchronization.

02Information we handle

Information stored on your device

ReadRush may store the following information locally on your device:

• display name;
• optional age range (not a full date of birth);
• preferred reading speed;
• onboarding and daily-challenge status;
• passage and challenge identifiers;
• challenge completion dates;
• target and actual WPM;
• comprehension results and effective WPM;
• reading history, personal bests, and streak information; and
• account connection status.

You can use the core reading experience without creating an account.

Information processed when you connect an account

If you choose Sign in with Apple, or another sign-in provider that we make available, we may receive and process:

• a provider-issued account identifier;
• your email address, including an Apple private relay address if you choose Hide My Email;
• your name when the provider makes it available; and
• an authentication session needed to keep you signed in.

Apple normally provides a person’s name only during the first authorization. ReadRush also lets you enter or update a display name directly.

Reading information synchronized to the cloud

When you connect an account, ReadRush may synchronize your profile, optional age range, preferences, reading sessions, scores, history, personal best, and streak through Supabase. This lets signed-in users retain their progress and use it with their account.

03How we use information

We use information only to:

• provide and operate ReadRush;
• personalize reading speed and profile settings;
• calculate reading, comprehension, streak, and progress results;
• authenticate users;
• synchronize and restore account-linked progress;
• respond to support, privacy, and account-deletion requests;
• protect the service and investigate misuse; and
• meet legal and App Store requirements.

04Advertising and analytics

The current release does not include an active advertising or third-party analytics SDK. ReadRush does not show advertisements during reading or comprehension quizzes.

If advertising or analytics is introduced in a later release, we will update this policy, the App Store privacy disclosures, and any consent experience before enabling it.

05Service providers

We use service providers only as needed to operate the app:

• Apple: App Store distribution and optional Sign in with Apple.
• Supabase: authentication, database hosting, and optional account synchronization.
• Google: only if Google sign-in is enabled and you choose to use it.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. They may process information in countries other than the one where you live.

06Data sharing

We may share information:

• with service providers that operate features described in this policy;
• when required by law, legal process, or a valid government request;
• when reasonably necessary to protect users, PTRI Innovation, or the public; or
• as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.

We do not share personal information with data brokers, and we do not permit service providers to use ReadRush data for their own advertising.

07Retention and deletion

Local reading information remains on your device until you reset it, delete the app, or use an in-app deletion control.

Account-linked information remains in Supabase while your account is active. You can delete your ReadRush account from Profile → Delete account and cloud data. This removes the authentication account and synchronized ReadRush state. You can also contact us if you cannot access the in-app control.

Some limited records may be retained when required for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal compliance, or reliable backup rotation.

08Your choices

You may:

• use the core app without connecting an account;
• select “Prefer not to say” for age range;
• edit your display name, age range, and preferred WPM;
• reset local reading history and streaks;
• sign out while keeping local progress on that device; or
• delete your account and synchronized data in the app.

09Children’s privacy

ReadRush is a general-audience reading tool and is not directed to children under 13. The optional age-range picker includes “Under 13” so the app can support age-appropriate privacy choices; it does not request a full birth date.

If you are under the minimum age required to consent to data processing where you live, use ReadRush only with permission from a parent or legal guardian and do not connect an account without that permission. If you believe a child provided personal information without appropriate consent, contact us so we can review and delete it.

10Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. Account traffic is encrypted in transit using standard HTTPS/TLS, and database access is restricted using authenticated Row Level Security policies. No system can guarantee absolute security.

11Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when ReadRush, its service providers, or legal requirements change. We will update the effective date and, when appropriate, provide additional notice.
